What a fun tour to take! Our guide Laura was extremely knowledgeable about the coffee making process. She was very personable and funny, wonderful to be around! Her English was excellent. Sara was phenominal!
We had Sara as our private guide! I cannot tell you how much of a delight she was. We have been on multiple tours from different countries and within the United States, and she was probably by far the best guide we have ever had. We love how much information she gave us about Medellin. The history, and her history with the city as well! Visiting Commune 13 was definitely a highlight of our trip so far and to be honest, if we did not have her we never would’ve went. We felt so safe with her and seeing what That area has become and should I say overcome has been absolutely incredible. We wish we could have her for every tour! Medellin Street Food and Drinks - Perfect Tour
He had an amazing experience. We didn’t book ahead of time and there was no availability on the day we wanted to do the food tour. However, the company was so accommodating and worked so hard to get a tour guide for us. We are so thankful they did because our food tour was not only delicious but the perfect ending to our trip to Medellin. We ate delicious foods and learned so much about the Medellin Culture through our great guide. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to a more local area called Sabaneta where we got to eat great treats, try Aguardiente and a refreshing Refajo. Fun day trip
This was a great day trip! Laura was our guide and was so friendly and knew tons of people at all of our stops. Because it was a Sunday and more busy we went to Guatapé first to miss more of the crowds, which was great. The coffee farm was fun and the owner was super friendly and a bit of a jokester. The coffee was great and we walked away with 7 lbs of coffee along with some chocolates made with coffee as well. Were coffee people so it didn’t take a huge sales pitch. An awesome Colombian experience! 10/10
The horse back riding and trip to the coffee plantation was amazing. Our guide, Sarah, was super knowledgeable and we learnt so much, not just about coffee, but also life in Colombia and how locals live. My wife and I are confident on horses so they let us trot and canter on the trail which was a lot of fun. The ride is ~10.5km which is decent! The views on the ride are amazing. Once at the coffee plantation we met the owner and his lovely family, who served the most delicious lunch. We then tasted the coffee brewed in 4 different ways. Highly recommend this tour! Absolute Must Do
This tour was absolutely perfect. We loved every moment, including the drive, and really enjoyed Sarah, our guide. She was knowledgeable and gave us great tips on where to shop and what to eat. Or have you ever planted an avocado tree or harvested one fruit with your hands?

In this amazing Guatape and Avocado Farm tour in one day you will learn that and much more about avocado together with visiting the stunning rock and the beautiful Guatape town.

Guatape and Avocado Farm Tour Itinerary

All our tours are private and include pickup and drop off.

So we start from your place at the time that is more convenient for you.

Then, we head east of Antioquia to start with our first delicious stop.

Exotic Fruit Tasting

Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production, as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory.

This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of them.

In this short stop we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors.

After delighting the palate with these exotic fruits we are ready to head to our second stop: the avocado farm.

Avocado Farm Tour

From the fruit market we continue our journey for around 50 minutes as you see amazing views through the window.

Once we get to the farm,  our hosts, a beautiful couple greets you warmly with a delicious avocado dessert, where you discover new tastes and uses to this fruit.

And then we start the educational tour learning first about what is needed to grow an avocado tree and actually doing it in a germinator where you learn the time line from planting to seed to harvesting.

After planting your own seed we continue learning about the required conditions to grow avocado (elevation, seasons, ph of the soil and more) as well as the threats like plagues and diseases.

And then we start a hands-on activity where our host teaches you how to make a delicious avocado jelly that you can use in multiple food preparations with all the benefits of the avocado.

Avocado Plantation

Then in the plantation we look for an avocado ready to be picked following our host instructions.

Our last activity in the field is planting an avocado tree.

So first, you need to mark and clean the area and then dig a hole to insert a baby plant and hopefully you will have an avocado tree that you are than welcome to visit in the future 🙂

Lastly, to reward your effort of planting a tree our host gives you a cold and refreshing avocado lemonade.

Also you have the opportunity to buy some avocado subproducts that they produce like oil for the skin care or seed powder.

There are also cute socks, pijamas and more avocado related products available. 

After refreshing and saying goodbye to the avocado farmers we head to the next stop, the imponent rock of Guatape.

Climbing Up The Guatape Rock

At this massive rock you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down.

Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.

This is not only our opinion but that of hundreds of tourists we have taken there.

Guatape Town The City of Zocalos

At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town’s landmarks: church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more.

After we finish our visit in this beautiful Guatape town we head back in our comfortable private car.
