Andrés was a terrific , very knowledgeable about coffee (having worked in the industry for many years) and about the history, food, and culture in Colombia more generally. Each of the local places where we sampled food was fantastic, and we appreciated getting to see areas outside of Medellín that we would not have found on our own. My personal favorite was the buñuelos, and seeing the largest one ever made at the same location that we ate at.

Next, the coffee experience at a small farm was really wonderful. The private lesson, from the very beginning steps of growing the coffee trees to processing the beans and brewing the coffee, was fascinating to learn about. And the lunch was also delicious— the sausage, egg, beans, and rice were incredible.

My only piece of feedback would be to not eat beforehand— there was so much great food, I could’ve had a completely empty stomach before the tour and still be quite satisfied!
