Our Private Guatape and Graffiti Tour in just one day encompasses two must-do activities when you visit our beautiful Medellin.

First you get to know first-hand the transformation of Medellin through the street-art and this neighborhood's history.

We talk about how we went from be one of the most violent cities to a city with a huge progress in social innovation as well as we discuss the challenges we are facing now as a city and the goals we are pursuing.

After the graffiti tour in Comuna 13 we are ready to start our journey to Guatape.

In our way there we make our first stop to try some exotic fruits.

After this brief stop we continue our journey to the Guatape rock, a 722 ft rock that has an outstanding view from the top.

The last stop of this great day is to visit the most colorful and picturesque town in Colombia: Guatape.

Guatape and Graffiti Tour Itinerary:

First Stop: Graffiti Tour in Comuna 13

The day starts with a pick up at your hotel and from there we go directly to Comuna 13.

Once we get there we start walking around the street art as your guide tells you the meanings of the graffitis you are seeing.

Between the graffitis we give you an in-depth context about this district, why it was so violent, and what was done to change the situation.

These and more questions are answered as we walk around Comuna 13 appreciating the improvements and looking the city from above in one of the viewpoints.

Comuna 13 is also the place where the first open-air electrical escalators in the world were installed.

The escalators were opened in December of 2011 and helped to save more than 350 stairs in a very steep hill.

Besides the escalators that became one the biggest touristic attractions in Medellin, Comuna 13 is also one of the biggest street art districts in Colombia.

Half of the neighborhood displays meaningful graffiti and you get the chance to learn all their meanings.

Throughout the walk in Comuna 13 we invite you to try traditional snacks from Medellin and Colombia. If you are a foodie you will love this.

Empanadas, Butifarras, Carimañolas, Aborrajado and more, all of them delicious and authentic.

And who knows if we are lucky we might find some of the artists responsible for these pieces of art.

In our walk we visit the view point, the new pathway full of graffiti and the slide built to honor a tragedy occurred in Comuna 13.

Second Stop in our Guatape and Graffiti Tour: Climbing Up The Guatape Rock

After trying these delicious fruits, we go towards the Guatape Rock.

At this massive rock you get the chance to climb its 749 steps, it takes around 50 minutes to go up and down.

At the top of the rock you will admire one of the most beautiful views in the world.

This is not only our opinion but that of hundreds of tourists we have taken there.

Third Stop: Guatape Town The City of Zocalos

Our next destination is Guatape, one of the most colorful and picturesque towns in Colombia.

At this town we make a walking tour through each of the town's landmarks.

After we finish our visit in this beautiful Guatape town we head back to Medellin in our comfortable private car.
